1.0 Introduction:
-----------------
Tagit, what is it? Tagit is a program that will add information
to your outgoing E-Mail messages. Tagit/2 was designed for the
single purpose of adding taglines to your outgoing messages.
Needless to say it has grown from this point to include the X-Mailer
line in the header too.
At this point I'd like to say 'THANK YOU' to Jean-Pierre Cabani/e.
For without his help, TagIt/2 might still be in the makings today.
1.1 DISCLAIMER
--------------
This software is provided "as is". The user must assume
all liabilities for using this software. In no event shall
the author be liable for direct, indirect, consequential
damages, loses, costs, charges, claims, demands or claim
or lost profits, fees, or expenses of any nature or kind.
There is no warranty on Tagit/2. TagIt/2 is designed to work
with PMMail.
1.2 Installation
----------------
To install TagIt/2 goto the main window of PMMail. Open
ACCOUNT \ Utilities Settings \ REXX Exits
Mark Message Send Exit and add to the 'script to run'
TAGIT2.EXE
TagIt/2 has to be plcaed in the PMMail directory.
It is possible to place the TagFile anywhere as long as
you enter the complete path in the TAGIT2.INI file.
2.0 Taglines
------------
By simply adding a keyword (Default:!tagline) on a singler line,
are you able to add random taglines to your messages. TagIt/2 will
read your out going messages for this keyword and replace it with a
random tagline from your tag file. You are not limited to just one
tag file. It is possible to to have more then one and let TagIt/2
choose a tag file before it chooses a tagline.
2.1 Multiple line tags
----------------------
It is also possible to have multiple line tags in your tag
file. For multiple line tags to work correctly one must
place a " ' " in the line where the lie should be broken.
Multiple " ' " are possible.
3.0 X-Mailer
------------
With TagIt/2 it is also possible to change your X-Mailer lines to
something of your choice. Mind you that when the keyword for the
X-Mailer isn't definded, the X-Mailer line will remain the same.
At the same time if you are not registered the X-Mailer line will
also not be changed, with or without the keyword setting.
4.0 INI-File
-------------
Pretag : The spacing you wish to precede each tagline with.
This could be anything from normal spaces to leading
dots, or whatevery your feel nessary or desires.
Tagmarker : The text you wish to search for to indicate where the
tag should go. The defaut at pressent is '!tagline'
But could be changed to anything you would like to
easily remember it.
Tag_files : The file specification for which tag files to use.
If you wish to use only one file, then just add the
full name of the file to be used. Should you want to
use more then one file then add the wildcard charector
'*.tag' to this setting. Remember all tag files have
to have the same ending or begining, for multiple
files to work. These files may be anywhere, but we
default to the PMMail directory under the SOUTHSDE
directory. If your wish or plan to have the tagfiles
somewhere else, then you have to place the complete
path in the INI keyword.
Outline : This is provided if you want to prepend your tag with
some other text. If you wish to prepend each line of
a multi-line tag, then change Pretag instead.
X-Mailer : This is provided if you would like to change your
X-MAILER line that PMMail puts in the outgoing mail.
This could be anything you would like and has to be
inclosed in " ' " to make sure nothing is lost when
reading the INI file.
5.0 Planning
------------
I plan for the future to add the possibility to have random Signature.
The possibility is also good that I will also try to add user
requested items.
6.0 Bug Reports / Contacting the author
